The botanical pesticides are an alternative for the pest control due to their effectiveness, their low cost of preparation, their easy obtention and to the fact that they do not contaminate the environment. In the present paper, extracts from the leaves of Gliricidia sepium are prepared by traditional and non-conventional technqiues. The energy from microwaves was used in the latter, which proved to be faster and allowed to attain better results. The biological activity of the aqueous extracts against pests considerably affecting the yield of important crops was evaluated with good results.
