The results of the biological and chemical analysis of the biogel obtained in the waters of El Templado swimming-pool of the of San Diego de los Baños spa, Cuba, are shown. Leptothrix subtilissima Kütz is the cyanobacterium producing this biogel with an 87 % of elementary sulphur. A sample without sulphur was prepared for the chemical analysis, allowing to determine the inorganic components that appear in a lower concentration and generally masked due to the high content of this element. It was used the method of solid-liquid extraction and signals characteristics of polysaccharides, magnesium, calcium and proteins were attained. It was concluded that this biogel has potentialities for being used in biomedicine, cosmetics and as a fertilizer in agriculture.
