The present study was conducted by assembling 6 experiments (each one replicated 3 times) at the tissue culture laboratory of "Dr. Juan Tomás Roig" Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants. Every experiment corresponded to a specific species. A completely randomized experimental design was used with 10 treatments and 10 repetitions. The treatments applied corresponded to every extract of of the studied medicinal plants and the Aloe vera (L.) N.L. Burm. gel and a control treatment that uses synthetic growth regulators for budding and rooting. Each repetition consisted in an assay tube with the adecuate nutritional medium for every species, where an explant was planted for every tube. Stimulating effects of the growth were demonstrated in the studied extracts. The best behavior corresponded to the A. vera gel, which was superior to the regulators traditionally used in the root formation. This event showed the possible presence of auxin activity in it. The extract of willow (Salix humboldtiana Wild) also had a satisfactory behavior on this regard, which corroborated the previously obtained results. However, both extracts did not show important signs of having cytoquinine activity. In this case, the extracts from Plantago lanceolata L. and Plantago major L. had a better behavior.
