Resumen

SANCHEZ GOVIN, Ester; RODRIGUEZ GONZALEZ, Horacio; CARBALLO GUERRA, Caridad  y  MILANES FIGUEREDO, Masgloiris. Influence of organic manures and biofertilizers in the quality of Calendula officinalis L. and Matricaria recutita L. medicinal species. Rev Cubana Plant Med [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.1. ISSN 1028-4796.

The need of continuos availabilty of raw materials of plant origin used with medicinal ends demands uniformity in their quality. For this, it is important, among other aspects, a systematized culture of the botanical species with the application of agrotechnologies allowing sustainable productions that are innocuous for the environment, starting from the use of the traditional techniques of organic agriculture. The present study deals with the influence of organic manures, plant compost and earthworm humus produced at "Dr. Juan Tomás Roig" Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants, and of the commercial biofertilizers, Economic and Azofert, on the quality indexes of Calendula officinalis L. and Matricaria recutita L. cultivated in ferriferous red hydrated soil. In the case of C. officinalis, there were obtained higher yieldings of plant mass and there were improvements in the quality of the drug, whereas in the case of M. Recutita the yieldings of plant mass improved, but there were no quality changes.

Palabras clave : Plant compost; earthworm humus; commercial biofertilizers; Calendula officinalis L.; Matricaria recutita L.
