Tetrapterys  heterophylla (Griseb.) W.R. Anderson (Malpighiaceae) is one of the best natural sources of vitamin C. In this research, friedeline, lupeol, α- and β-amyrine, caryophyllene β-oxide, b-sitosterol, b-sitosteryl-b-D-glucopyranoside, glucose, quercetin 3-O-b-D-glucopyranoside, quercetin 3-O-b-D-galactopyranoside, 5,7,2’,3’,4’-pentahydroxyflavonol 3-O-b-D-glucopyranoside, 5,7,3’,5’-tetrahydroxyflavonol 3-O-b-D-glucopyranoside, and 5,7,2’,3’,4’-pentahydroxyflavone, were isolated from the acetone extract of this plant. All these compounds were identified by comparison of their spectral data in EM, ¹H and ¹³C NMR with those reported in the literature.
