Abstract

LOVO, Javier. Covid-19: are non-pharmacological measures the answer?. Multimed [online]. 2021, vol.25, n.1, e1968.  Epub Jan 01, 2021. ISSN 1028-4818.

With the worldwide spread of the SARS Cov-2 virus and without the presence of a specific drug for the treatment or prophylaxis of the disease. Only traditional public health measures remain, to prevent the virus from continuing to spread. Our goal is to reflect on these non-pharmacological measures, which are already in place in all countries. Actions such as frequent hand washing, repeated disinfection of surfaces have proven to be effective in preventing viral spread. Likewise, measures such as isolation, quarantine, social distancing and the reduction of productive activities, except those strictly essential, have contributed to containing the virus. A response to the problem was expected, in the development of an effective drug or vaccine, but in the absence of this the only solution and the most effective at the moment are these non-pharmacological prevention measures.
