A male patient, 7 years old, presented a history of contact with a domestic cat, from the Gaspar municipality, Santa Catarina state in Brazil. The mother reported the presence of reddish and purulent lesions on the skin of the chest and arms, which did not improve with the treatment that was applied. The mycological culture of the lesions demonstrated the presence of the fungus Sporothrixschenckii, so the definitive diagnosis of sporotrichosis was made. It was treated with itraconazole and evolved favorably.
