The clinical case of an 11 year-old patient, with a history of diabetes mellitus type I who began to present spots of dark red color in the skin (similar to contusions) arms, forehead and legs for 3 months is detailed. She was admitted to the Northern Teaching Hospital from Santiago de Cuba and after being treated with prednisona and insulin, on the fifth day of treatment with steroids the skin hemorrhagic lesions began to decrease and others to disappear. She was discharged with a specific therapeutic plan and indications for clinical follow-up in the respective hematologic and pediatric Endocrinology visits.
