A descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study of 150 patients with chronic renal failure, treated in the Hemodialysis Department of "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba was carried out from January to June, 2006. Of the studied population that received the benefits of the purification of the blood 3 times per week, a sample of 45 members was chosen at random, with ages between 18 - 80 years and complete treatment in hemodialysis during not less than a trimester. It was found that the high blood pressure, mainly systolic, was associated to a higher average of ultrafiltrated volume, to an increase with the age and diabetes mellitus in the selected patients.
