An educational intervention was carried out in 36 malnourished students from "Josué País García" junior high school, belonging to "28 de Septiembre" University Polyclinic of Santiago de Cuba from January to December, 2008, in order to modify the knowledge of nutrition in that population group. With this community trial the knowledge of the importance of nutritional state and diet peculiarities for this development stage improved in teenagers. It was recommended to extend the study to other health areas of the region.
