The provincial experience in the implementation of more than 30 protocols of clinical trials to validate 15 pharmaceutical products was evaluated (biotechnological, biomaterials and medical equipments) in more than 20 medical prescriptions, for which a descriptive study of 47 protocols coordinated and conducted by the Provincial Subcenter of Clinical Trials of Santiago de Cuba from 1991 to 2007 was carried out. In all the cases the health pattern had been tried to be favorably modified and to contribute to achieve the excellence in the health services.
