Abstract

VENET CADET, Gleymis et al. Assessment of the lipidic profile during the metabolic decompensation of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. MEDISAN [online]. 2010, vol.14, n.1. ISSN 1029-3019.

A longitudinal and prospective study of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus , assisted in "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Hospital of Havana, from 1997 to 2005 was carried out, in collaboration with the Medicine Faculty No. 2 of the Medical Sciences University in Santiago de Cuba and The University of the West Indies in Jamaica, with the purpose of determining the influence of the change of metabolic state, according to glycemia levels, in the manifestation of the lipidic profile , as well as to study the variations of cholesterol, triglycerides; lipoproteins of low, very low and high density, when varying from a compensated metabolic state (glycemia: 3,0-6,9 mmol/L) to another descompensated (glycemia: 10,0-20,0 mmol/L), because during this last stage important modifications of the parameters of the lipidic profile were not appreciated in these patients.
