Current concepts on health promotion and human health in the context of the central ideas in terms of health are stated, and challenges that the public health faces, health-disease relationship, prevention of disease, interventions of promotion and their components are discussed as well. Moreover, considerations on evaluation, evidence and essential characteristics of models and investigations in health promotion and its framework with the social capital are made. It is argued that satisfaction, well-being and improved quality of life of people and their environment are the result of joint work of health professionals and society.
