VAZQUEZ LAVAUT et al. Hemodialysis Service Impact Assessment on Palma Soriano municipality. MEDISAN [online]. 2011, vol.15, n.7, pp. 884-900. ISSN 1029-3019.
A descriptive and cross-sectional study to assess the Hemodialysis Service impact on Palma Soriano municipality, Santiago de Cuba province, was carried out from July, 2008 to March, 2009. A total of 39 patients, who received that care, as well as health providers in charge of that service, were surveyed in the aforementioned period. It was found that hypertension was the primary cause of interdialytic morbidity (89,7 %). Furthermore, all the persons attended due to chronic renal failure and those health workers who offered the service were satisfied with the good results achieved. Starting from this, it was inferred that the implementation of the dialytic therapy in the territory had a great acceptability for both Palma Soriano´s population and health providers.
