A descriptive and cross-sectional trial was carried out during the second three-month period of the year 2010 in order to assess the nutritional condition of 118 infants under 1 year old belonging to four doctor's offices and who were attended at "Josué País García" University Polyclinic from Santiago de Cuba by a basic working group. Age, sex, size, birth weight, and breastfeeding type were the variables analyzed. A noticeable predominance of normal nutritional condition in both boys and girls fed using exclusive breastfeeding and in those who were born with an adequate birth weight according to his/her age was found.
