An analytical observational research of historical character on the trends of the teaching of pediatrics, primarily from 1959 in Cuba was conducted. Thus, analytical indicators included the training of professional skills in the teaching-learning process in that specialty based on the structure of the professional model and vision for the paradigm change of the training in medical career (from curative to socio-medical tendency).
