Abstract

A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of analgesic and anti-inflammatory therapy with Vimang® cream in recurrent aphthous stomatitis, for which 40 patients attending the Stomatology Department of "Camilo Torres Restrepo" Teaching Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba were selected from January to December 2010 , who were randomly assigned to 2 groups (formed by 20 patients each): study group, who received traditional medicine, and control group, who were conventionally treated . Patients were seen at second, fourth and sixth days of having applied the therapy to assess patient outcomes, and it was found that treatment with Vimang® cream in aphthous stomatitis was effective, as the symptoms disappeared in a shorter time.
