Abstract

The intestinal ischemia is considered as the most lethal cause in the acute abdomen syndrome; its consequence, the small intestine infarction, takes place due to thromboembolic phenomena and non occlusive ischemia. The objective of the present work is to provide an updated literature review about the topic and to facilitate the surgeon's performance in front of this health problem of systemic repercussion which is not as uncommon as it is thought
