A descriptive and cross-sectional study of 106 school children with 5-6 years from "José de la Luz y Caballero" primary school, Contramaestre municipality was carried out from November, 2010 to January, 2011, with the objective of evaluating the influence of breast feeding in the occurrence of malocclusions, for which variables of interest were analyzed for the investigation. Female sex, the combined breast feeding, as well as the protactile tongue and the digital suction as deforming oral habits prevailed in the series. It is concluded that combined breast feeding caused the occurrence of these habits, what could be related to the origin of the malocclusions, together to the small traverse development of upper and lower jaws
