Abstract

NAPOLES MENDEZ, Danilo  and  COUTO NUNEZ, Dayana. Use of risk factors and clinical predictive models for the diagnosis of the venous thromboembolic disease. MEDISAN [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.1, pp.88-101. ISSN 1029-3019.

Thromboembolic disease constitutes a health problem risking the life of thousands of patients, and there are in it the deep venous thrombosis and lung thromboembolism. Its diagnosis is difficult keeping in mind that the clinical manifestations and most of the diagnostic tools for them have limitations, so, it is important to consider the usefulness of risk factors as well as the test of clinical probability to achieve a better approach; however, the physiologic changes during pregnancy favour the disease and make the diagnosis more difficult. This review has as objective to offer an updated information with the aim of guiding the medical community in the appropriate use of these tools and of rising in the obstetricians the necessity to work with a clinical and predictive model, adequate for pregnancy and puerperium

Keywords : pregnancy; puerperium; venous thromboembolic disease; risk factor; clinical model.
