A qualitative investigation was carried out during 2014 including the 57 members of the teaching staff from the social work career, belonging to "Eloy Alfaro" University at the Republic of Ecuador, with the aim of carrying out a diagnosis to identify the cognitive preparation level of the professors on the values education and, from the results obtained, to implement an educational strategy later on, keeping in mind that the complex and multifaceted character of the education in values demands a special preparation from the professor's board
