The Cuban Public Health Ministry has declared that to achieve the constant increment of knowledge in the health care sector professionals, it is necessary to carry out a group of occupational training actions guided to such an aim and that contribute to the development of this sphere. In this respect, managing cadres and reserves occupational training have a great importance, so in this work the historical backgrounds, the characteristics, the objective and the importance of this process are exposed, what is evidently indispensable to undertake the inminent tasks of the sector at the present time
