An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study of 618 families with 1 943 inhabitants, belonging to the Health Basic Unit No. 1, São Vicente, of the Vianópolis municipality, in the Goiás state, Brazil, during the months of May to July, 2015, with the objective of carrying out the analysis of the health situation of 2014, for which the methodology of the Mato Grosso of the South University was used. Data were collected in the Statistical Department from the Health Secretary, and through surveys applied to the health community agents and the population, and formal and informal interviews made to different social actors. The main problems were the high incidences of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, alcoholism and pregnant adolescents, as well as the little knowledge of hypertensive people on their disease and the bad dietary and social habits
