Abstract

In this work an approach to the social problems of the Cuban epidemic neuropathy in its optic pattern, is carried out through science, technology and technoscience; also, the science concept is analyzed that is usually defined by opposition to that of technique, according to the different functions that it carries out. On the other hand, a historical outline is made and it is pointed out that a clinical pattern very similar to this disease was described during the last war of Cuban independence. There is also a comment on the universality and equality values as requirements for a decent community life, and it is demonstrated that all the patients were benefitted with an equal health assistance; also, the relationship between life quality and Cuban epidemic neuropathy in its optic pattern is pointed out, at the same time, quantitative approaches that have as purpose to measure the life quality by means of different indicators are criticized
