Introduction:

The preservation of the environment in the dental sector has been studied and it is necessary to modify knowledge about its care and conservation among dentistry professionals.

Objective:

To modify the level of knowledge that Dentistry professionals have about care and preservation of the environment.

Method:

Quasi-experiment study of educational intervention type in 27 dentistry professionals. Two questionnaires were applied, before and after the implementation of an educational program. For statistical validation, the McNemar test was applied to determine the statistically significant difference between before and after.

Results:

In dentistry professionals, knowledge about the care and conservation of the environment increased by 92.6 %.

Conclusions:

The implementation of the Educational Program "Friendly Dentistry” was useful to modify the knowledge regarding care and conservation of the environment by dentists and dental care graduates.
