The case report of a patient is presented with compensated paranoid schizophrenia who, after committing a homicide, received a psychotherapeutic intervention at "Gustavo Machín" Psychiatric Hospital. The 35 years patient showed a significant improvement in his behavior, personal hygiene and socialization skills. A qualitative approach focused on a single case was used, using techniques such as direct observation, semi-structured interviews, the 10 wishes technique and the rating scale. The personalized psychotherapeutic intervention achieved positive changes in the patient's behavior, improving the understanding of his health status and the influence of the past on his personality, as well as the communication and socialization capacities.
