Introduction:
The methodology implies a system of methods, procedures and techniques that regulated by certain requirements allow a better order of thought and the way of performance to obtain certain cognitive purposes.
Objective:
To elaborate an interdisciplinary training methodology of education at work for the comprehensive care of patients with colon cancer.
Methods:
They are summed up in the systematization and generalization of training experiences of the author by means of a functional structural systemic approach.
Results:
The stratification of contents and progressive development of surgical skills, also a system of values with level of upward complexity during the four years duration of residence in general surgery, based on training methodological stages (diagnosis and evaluation, interdisciplinary and comprehensive professional training), constitute the fundamental characteristic of methodology; in order to achieve progressive autonomy and the objective of training a professional with a broad profile.
Conclusions:
Methodology is expressed in the care, teaching and research practice of the surgeon in training, which is characterized by being flexible, integrative, stratified and systemic and is evaluated through patterns of achievements based on the qualities of relevance and comprehensiveness.
