GONZALEZ BASULTO, Maurice José  y  GARCIA RODRIGUEZ, Jaqueline. Professional training of nuclear medicine technologists for radioactive waste management. MEDISAN [online]. 2024, vol.28, n.6  Epub 27-Nov-2024. ISSN 1029-3019.

The growing use of radiations and radioactive materials in the world has generated a demand for professionals in nuclear medicine, both internationally and in Cuba. Society requires competent and specialized technologists to work in technical areas of medical sciences, such as nuclear medicine, where the application of ionizing radiations is essential for research, treatment and medical diagnosis. This requires a professionalization process that guarantees a solid practical and theoretical preparation of the technologist, with special attention to the development of their performance and a comprehensive understanding of their role in the management of radioactive waste.

Palabras clave : technologists; nuclear medicine; professional training; professional performance; management of radioactive waste.
