PENA MOYA, Yelian; PENA PALMA, Saskia y CHAVIANO CARBALLEA, Marcos. Common complications in patients with percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Medicentro Electrónica [online]. 2022, vol.26, n.4, pp.965-975. Epub 01-Dic-2022. ISSN 1029-3043.
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy is a standardized procedure for the treatment of kidney stones. The objective of this communication was to describe complications, treatment and evolution of patients who underwent a percutaneous nephrolithotomy in the Urology service at "Arnaldo Milián Castro" Clinical and Surgical University Hospital from January 2015 to December 2019. This study showed a low rate of complications, which is related to the short time used to perform this technique. This was beneficial since it contributed to the short hospital stay and decreased the consumption of medical materials and supplies. It also represents a great achievement for doctors and above all for the patients, who can recover in a shorter period of time and be quickly returned to their daily life.
Palabras clave : nephrolithotomy, percutaneous; nephrolithiasis/surgery.
