Introduction: the diagnosis is one of the fundamental tasks of the doctors and the basis for an effective therapy. Objetive: characterizing the impact of Media Services Diagnosis offered to community of patients at Valle Hermoso Integral Community Hospital, Cercado municipality, Cochabamba, Bolivia from 2007 to 2009.   Méthods: a descriptive and retrospective study at Valle Hermoso Integral Community Hospital, Cercado municipality, Cochabamba, Bolivia from 2007 to 2009 was performed, with the aim of characterizing the impact of Media Services Diagnosis offered. To patient treated. A total of 1 000 patients were surveyed and statistical records were reviewed of consultations ultrasound, electrocardiogram, endoscopy and clinical laboratory. The variables sex, age, ethnicity, number of examinations performed, the test cost in the public sector, query conditions and population satisfaction were analyzed. Results: the highest percentage of the patients belonged to the most excluded sectors, consisting of children, elderly and women. 84% of those that were surveyed were satisfied with the care provided. In 18 months of service in Valle Hermoso Comprehensive Community Hospital were performed 51,363 free diagnostic tests, representing a saving of 276 201 dollars. The most vulnerable and discriminated sectors of the population were those that were benefited the most. Conclusions: diagnostic services had a positive social impact regarding health, accessibility, social benefit and satisfaction of most humble people attended
