Introduction: adolescence is a stage of great vulnerability that may worsen following the use and abuse of drugs, especially regarding alcohol consumption that begins and increases in early ages. Objective: to identify the materials on alcohol consumption in adolescence in the training of physicians in Cuba. Method: a descriptive study using analysis and synthesis methods of literature review included the curriculum of the medical career specialty of Pediatrics and General Medicine and Mastery of the childcare was carried out. Results: the results showed that in Cuba, in the undergraduate program of the School Medicine, the topic on alcohol consumption is studied only in first and fifth year and only in fifth year (Psychiatry subject) several activities are scheduled, and are considered sufficient. Regarding graduate program: In General Medicine specialty, the topic on the alcohol consumption is not specified as well as in the program of Pediatrics specialty, in which it is not designed in the plan. In the Child Care Mastery, the time that is devoted to the topic is very short. Conclusions: study plans analyzed in this research are insufficiently designed for learning on alcohol consumption in adolescence and teaching strategies do not encourage the development of practical skills.
