Burnout is a psychological syndrome characterized by the presence of suggestive manifestations of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low personal accomplishment. By developing this manuscript, we have done an updated and practical review of the symptoms,
focused on the strategies to confront them, also emphasizing the importance and impact on the population. A search was made in the PubMed, SciELO and Redalyc databases using the key words in Spanish and English, and articles were selected for the development of the text. Burnout syndrome represents a major problem that must be studied, not only because of the discomfort it generates in the individual who suffers it, but also due to the implications it has on work performance and, consequently, on the well-being of those who require the services for their treatment.
