Resumen
SANCHEZ CRUZ, Julio César; NAVARRO DESPAIGNE, Daysi A y HERNANDEZ ORTEGA, Ania. Acción fisiopatológica integrada de las hormonas sobre el tejido óseo: Physiopathological integrated action of hormones on the bone tissue. Rev Cubana Endocrinol [online]. 2006, vol.17, n.2. ISSN 1561-2953.
The definitive height an individual can reach, as well as the adequate health and integration of his bone tissue depends in a great extent on his constant interaction with hormones from the embrionary stage to the last moments of his life. Taking into consideration that the relation between the hormones and the bone is only described in the textbooks in a separate way and with no integrality between the physiological and the pathological aspect, a wide bibliographic review is made by unifying criteria and points of view of different authors aimed at attaining a more accurate understanding of the functions of the hormones on the bone tissue, and at having a more comprehensive and reasoned vision of the etiopathogenesis of affections such as osteoporosis, short and tall stature (of endocrine cause) and craniosinostosis, among others. As a result, it was obtained a document that explained in a clearer and more integral way the physiopathological actions of hormones on the bone tissue of a living organism.
