The estimation of the sulphatizing index was carried out during a year by using an alkaline plate technique and passive samplers in an orthogonally-designed network covering the central muncipalities of the City of Havana. The results allowed to record the differences in the sulphations levels in an over 60 km2 are and also to draw up an isoline map of sulphate concentrations which made the detection of the main fired polluting sources in the territory possible.
