A cross-sectional study of 204 workers, 71 from the "Capitán San Luis" Factory of Infants`Footwear that were exposed to organic solvents, and 133 controls who worked at the Dairy Enterprise of Havana, was carried out in order to know the effect of these solvents on the health of the studied workers. The concentrations of the contaminant in the working environment were within the normal exposure limits. Significant differences were found in some clinical and laboratory parameters among the exposed workers. Morbidity indicators tended to be higher in the exposed workers.
