Resumen
IBARRA FERNANDEZ DE LA VEGA, Enrique José et al. Necesidades de aprendizaje en profesionales cubanos de la atención a la salud de los trabajadores. Rev Cubana Hig Epidemiol [online]. 2002, vol.40, n.2, pp. 121-131. ISSN 1561-3003.
In order to identify the present learning needs of Cuban occupational health professionals, it was made a previous characterization of those working in this sphere in 9 provinces of the country and at the National Institute of Occupational Health. Later on, all the professionals from the provinces of Havana City and Ciego de Avila were surveyed. The results show the high number of available specialists, mainly young doctors giving medical attention at working centers, whose fundamental needs in primary care reflect the current demands for the preventive and promotional health activity. The professionals assigned to hygiene and epidemiology centers referred to specific training needs, whereas those at the National Institute of Occupational Health stated their own research and teaching requirements. As a general recommendation, it was suggested to draw a global and integrated strategy to complement the national training plan of human resources in occupational health.
