RODRIGUEZ SALVA, Armando et al. Team work in shared family physicians' offices: an option to be developed at the primary health care level. Rev Cubana Hig Epidemiol [online]. 2006, vol.44, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3003.

The family physician and nurse program that started in 1984 was also affected by the economic crisis resulting from the collapse of the socialist field in Eastern Europe during the 90's. Taking into consideration that this program is a milestone of the Cuban health system, it was decided to conduct a descriptive study on the aspects related to the functioning of the basic health equipment in the municipalities of Centro Habana and San Antonio de los Baños from 2003 on. During the investigation, qualitative and quantitative techniques with percentage calculation were applied to the studied groups of physicians, nurses and patients. According to the results, it was recognized that the existence of offices shared by several basic health teams represents an element that should be considered for the development of primary health care. Future organizational measures could improve the work done in these health structures.
