Abstract

Cycles for the improvement of the quality of diagnosis of bacylloscopically negative tuberculosis: some considerations for its application. Rev Cubana Hig Epidemiol [online]. 2008, vol.46, n.2. ISSN 0253-1751.

AIM: To show the application of some techniques devoted to increase the quality of medical care in the control and eradication of tuberculosis. DEVELOPMENT: The application of some processes to increase the quality of medical care is made known. To clear up the peculiarities related to the application of these techniques, we described the essential components and the quality improvement cycles, constituting a dynamic process of self-assessment that may be a suitable and correct alternative for the context. 5 phases were developed by a committee composed of members of the health center, where it is necessary the improvement of quality as regards the attention of a health problem. CONCLUSIONS: to advance toward the eradication of tuberculosis in Cuba is not only necessary to fulfil the strategic goals but also to achieve an optimal quality of interventions.
