A cross-sectional study was conducted including 65 children aged between 7 and 10 in Centro Habana Municipality, selected by opinion. In all of them a determination of blood lead was performed, complete physical examination where psychomotor development and learning problems were related to explore these features in educational activities. The information on school performance was from professors where the 46.2 % of children had blood lead levels above the permissible (10.0 µg/dL), the 67.7 % had learning problems and one child with blood leas values under 6 µg/dL. There was a statistical association of students with learning, attention and behavior probably related to blood lead levels. Results are statistically significant.
