Introduction:

Document analysis of the scientific production about dengue indexed in SciELO Regional provides greater scope and visibility for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Objective:

Recognize SciELO Regional as a resource enhancing the visibility and positioning of scientific production in the Latin American context.

Methods:

A descriptive study based on document analysis was conducted in the period extending from January 2013 to September 2020. The study universe was all the papers obtained by direct search. The exclusion criteria were not dealing with the topic of dengue and duplicate papers.

Results:

Of the total 1 105 papers analyzed, 152 were duplicates and 953 were retained for review. Brazil achieved the greatest production as a country, and its journals contributed the largest number of published papers in the year 2016.

Conclusions:

Results point to SciELO Regional as a resource enhancing visibility, positioning and good practices for information analysis and retrieval, where frontiers are not distinguished in terms of image, access and resources.
