Alter the triumph of the Revolution in 1959 there have been many advances in Nursing as a profession. That is why a study was performed in order to assess the impact of the humanization of the nursing services with the arrival of the health team of the Basic Nurse. A total of 330 basic nurses and 180 tutors and directors of Nursing were surveyed who comprise a representative sample of the whole universe, obtaining such information from "Manuel Fajardo" headquarters and branch from July 2004 to May 2005. The variables used were: criteria on advantages of the new pedagogical model, role of the basic nurses and their training, values that characterise them, as well as registration by headquarters in Nursing major. Out of a total of the 330 basic nurses, 322 (97.57%) consider teaching universalization as something transcendental. A total of 176 tutors and directors (97.77%) state that the arrival of this nurse into the health team causes an impact, since it has caused an assistance with a better quality and greater nursing efforts, which was stated by 175 tutors and directors (97.22%). Among the values, humanism and the sense of duty stand out in these basic nurses. The registration was a significant aspect allowing to provide our country and other countries with services of quality and a high sense of humanism.
