The educative role of the tutor in the formation of medical students is very important, that is why the objective of this work is to propose a model for the individual characterization of the students to improve the formative activity of the tutor in the Municipal University Venue. A qualitative research in medical, nursing and health technology majors was conducted applying theoretical, empirical and statistical methods to a chosen sample of 15 tutors from the different areas of study, which represented 68% and 67% of the students enrolled in the different majors. Results showed that the experience obtained was between 1 and 2 years, representing 100%, those answers of acceptable and in existence prevailed (62%), characterization and diagnosis of students according to their different features were the most affected functions to perform an efficient educative task. Concluding that to carry out educative individual actions tutors must work as leaders to advice each student in order to look for better options to fulfill the tasks assigned successfully.
