Resumen

PAMPILLO CASTINEIRAS, Tania; CACERES ROQUE, Odalys; BARBOSA AMARO, Maité  y  MENDEZ, María Antonieta. The investigative component in the educative-teaching process to enhance professional formation. Department of Pediatrics. 2007. Rev Ciencias Médicas [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.3, pp.332-341. ISSN 1561-3194.

Educative-teaching process should have academic, working and investigative components; these must be used in the teaching-learning process as a whole for professors and students, which must be designed in the curricular programs of the different subjects. A longitudinal and prospective study was carried out with a group of students enrolled on second academic year of nursing studies at "Pepe Portilla" Teaching Pediatric Hospital (2006-2207) aimed at designing a system of activities for the individual study of Biochemistry subject, which contributes to the enhancement of quality in the process for the professional formation through the investigative component. The sample for the study was represented by 20 students, using intentional sampling. Empirical and theoretical methods were used (questionnaires and scientific observation), determining the poor participation of these students in the student-scientific activities; besides the low contribution of this subject to use the investigation as an individual way of learning, making possible the link between theoretical knowledge and medical practice in order to increase teaching quality.
