People who are 60 years old and over show a growing percentage of the population internationally, this age group needs a comprehensive study and a multidisciplinary attention being the dental one very necessary, so a descriptive and a cross-sectional study was performed aimed at valorating the oral health in the aged in the Medical Office 278, Montequin, "Hermanos Cruz Policlinic between October 2006 and August 2007. Universe was comprised of 151 patients and the sample was comprised of 123 having all of them the requisites for inclusion and they gave the informed consent , they were examined orally and a form was completed in order to record the clinical data. The chi square test was applied in order to obtain the information among the qualitative variables ( 95% confidence ), as well as the contingency table and the ratio test for independent groups resulting in the periodontal disease and the subprosthetic stomatitis the most prevalent oral diseases and the risk factors were the bad oral and prosthetic hygiene.
