CONIEL LINARES, Emilia et al. Basis of a scientific-pedagogical program to train professors of microbiology and parasitology. Rev Ciencias Médicas [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.3, pp.236-249. ISSN 1561-3194.

The educational system is experiencing a transition all over the world; one of the principal characteristics is the insertion of the human resources in the center of the workforce, leading to the creation of wealth and contributing to the achievement of social ideas and the development goals. The education must convey a greater amount of theoretical and practical knowledge en masse and efficiently, preserving the aims of the individual and collective projects of development. The difficulties found in the teaching staff of Microbiology and Parasitology subjects, regarding scientific-pedagogical instruction with respect to the new characteristics of the teaching-learning process in Higher Education, motivated: the basis of a scientific-pedagogical program to train the professors of Microbiology and Parasitology discipline, considering the identification of regularities and characteristics of the teaching practice of this subject in Pinar del Rio province. Among the theoretical methods were: materialistic-dialectical, historical-logic, systemic and systemic-structural; among the empirical: survey, literature revision with documentary analysis, observation and statistical methods. The strategy was evaluated by 20 experts and they considered it was very adequate, which demonstrated the applicability and effectiveness of the proposal, a program to train professors and personnel working at Medical Science University who are closely related to Microbiology and Parasitology; maintaining its correspondence with the upgrading of the Teaching Educational Process, showing it as an open system , with defined objectives and a constant interchange of state of the art information and learning resources to guarantee its effectiveness, keeping in mind the existing perspectives and possibilities.
