Introduction: the university today demands pedagogically and scientifically trained professors, so that they can manage the special didactics of the subject they lecture on, efficiently, permitting the comprehensive training of the students. Objective: to identify the learning needs of the docents lecturing the subject Microbiology-Parasitology in all majors that permit its special didactics. Material and methods: several research theoretical and empirical methods were used, as logical-historical method, structural-systemic, surveys, documental analysis, and observation. Results: we identified the main difficulties that professors have in the subject they lecture on in this new age of the knowledge. Conclusions: we worked on the proposal for a diploma course permitting raising the scientific and pedagogical level in the special didactics of teaching of the subject.
