CAMPO DIAZ, Mirta Caridad; HERNANDEZ GONZALEZ, Jorge Luis; MACHIN LOPEZ PORTILLA, María Teresa y FORTUN PRIETO, Adalberto. Observational guideline to the practical examination of pediatrics for undergraduates. Rev Ciencias Médicas [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.6. ISSN 1561-3194.
The practical examination is a certified evaluation carried out at the end of each stay of medical studies, it constitutes the time when the development of skills to identify and describe the symptoms and signs of patients are indispensable, as well as applying ethical and methodological principles when assessing the patients. The difficulties that have arisen in the development of this activity and the lack of homogeneity in its implementation, together with the large number of excellent evaluations to be applied, made it necessary to establish these observational guidelines for its implementation. It allows a more rigorous and objective judgment. The objective of this research is to improve the methodology for the practical examination in pediatrics subject, therefore an observational guideline and its implementation is necessary, in order to increase the quality and rigor of this activity, along with the achievement of a greater training, which is required at the end of this stay. An investigative, exploratory, descriptive and cross-sectional study was performed using the documentary analysis based on a review of the following documents: Resolution 210/07, Resolution 5/91, Syllabus of Pediatrics, National Training Program in Community-Comprehensive Medicine and scientific-participative observation methods. The use of it is a key element in the final evaluation of the course.
