Introduction:

the construction of the theoretical-methodological conception has in its essence "... a theoretical nucleus and another methodological one where the essential components and their relationships are mediated by stages where the diagnosis of the potentialities and problems is crucial".

Objective:

to determine the potentialities and problems in the interdisciplinary work on the Main Integrating Discipline of Comprehensive Medicine in medical science major.

Methods:

research study carried out during the 2018 - 2019 academic year, at Victoria de Giron Institute of Basic and Preclinical Sciences (ICBP), methods of theoretical and empirical levels were applied.

Results:

the theoretical-methodological conception is conceived to favor the interdisciplinary work in the Main Integrative Discipline of Comprehensive Medicine in the career of medicine, obtaining from its diagnostic stage the potentialities and problems in the Main Integrative Discipline of General Medicine in medical science major.

Conclusions:

the theoretical-methodological conception conceived to favor the interdisciplinary work in the Main Integrative Discipline of Comprehensive Medicine is theoretically and methodologically based, providing a group of regularities that enrich the Sciences of Medical Education; which is clearly shown from the diagnostic stage, as well as the potentialities and problems that favor the planning of methodological actions to revert to the current state and bring it to the desired one.
