Background:
Older adults present risk factors of a diverse nature associated with the probability of developing oral cancer.
Objective:
To determine the level of information about oral cancer in adults older than 60 years in Casilda Doctor´s office 5.
Methodology:
A cross-sectional descriptive observational study of November 2019 to April 2021. The sample was obtained by simple random sampling, it was made up of 85 people over 60 years of age from the Casilda Doctor´s 5. It was analyzed main response variable: Level of information about oral cancer. A was applied an oral cancer questionnaire and an oral self-examination observation guide.
Results:
An average age close to 67 years was observed; 55.3% of adults older was female, the primary school level prevailed with 38.8%. It was found a low level of information in 89.4% of the studied sample.
Conclusions:
The level of information about oral cancer was low in more than the third part of older adults.
