Resumen

GENCEL, Zivko. Correct location of water intakes located in small mountain reservoirs. RIHA [online]. 2012, vol.33, n.2, pp.1-10. ISSN 1680-0338.

The answer to the question: where to situate the intake structure in small mountain water reservoirs for hydro-energy projects? seems to be easy. The only way to correctly solve the problem, which implies a safe intake structure against sediment invasion, would come as a result of hydraulic physical model research. The article mentions two cases of such researches concluding that the analogy, if possible, allows making the proper decision before modeling but most certainly it is necessary to learn about the position and magnitude of the «cone free of sediments» in front of the big bottom outlet structures to define properly the final position and design of the water intake.

Palabras clave : water intake; reservoir site; small mountain reservoir; sediment invasion; hydraulic model.
